Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is one such businessman in Zambia who has kept growing his businesses despite the several challenges that come from a developing nation. Amongst corruption and unethical practices, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has kept a transparent and clean image and continues to do so. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been extremely vocal about unethical practices and has never tolerated or engaged in business or professional relationship with individuals or entities who are known to be corrupt. As a result, Dr. Mahtani has made several enemies along his business career. While most of the unethical, illegal or fake campaigns against Dr. Mahtani go down on their own, there are some instances where intervention becomes necessary.
A social media post started making rounds in the internet recently. This social media post was shared by Miriam Mwanawasa, daughter of the late Ex-President of Zambia Levy Mwanawasa. It should be noted here that Levy Mwanawasa shared a long-term and transparent friendship with Dr. Rajan Mahtani. As a result, this social media post from the daughter of the late Ex-Zambian president was a surprise. In a Facebook post, Miriam Mwanawasa claimed that Dr. Rajan Mahtani wanted to inherit the farmland at Masaiti district which belonged to the Mwanawasa family. As a result of the nature of the post and the person posting it, the post started circulating across the internet like wildfire and Dr. Mahtani decided to take actions against it.
A press statement was released in which Dr. Rajan Mahtani clarified that he never made such claims or intentions with any member of the Mwanawasa family. His friendship with the late-Ex-President of Zambia has been extremely transparent. Furthermore, he also highlighted that Miriam Mwanawasa shared the post without any evidence or supporting facts, making the claims ludicrous and malicious with the intention of damaging Dr. Mahtani’s reputation. Therefore, Dr. Mahtani decided that actions will be taken against this post.
