Despite the ongoing Coronavirus-19 pandemic, the enthusiasm and dedication towards growth and development of African nation has not reduced even a single bit. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist, was recently awarded with the famous ‘Best of Africa’ awards. These awards were presented to him during the ongoing FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. The philanthropy and leadership conference, which usually takes place at New York, was held online as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also invited into this event as a honorary speaker and spoke about the significance of leadership in healthcare. The roundtable event was perfect opportunity wherein critical participants such as members of the international business communities, media partners, international investors, spiritual leaders, opinion leaders as well as political leaders not only participated in meaningful discussions regarding philanthropic achievements and empowerment of the African nation; but also provided a platform for gathering financial support, funds and international investments for the various ongoing and potential business and philanthropic projects across Africa.
Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, apart from being invited into the event as a honorary speaker, was also conferred as one of the honorary award recipient. Forbes recognised the significant contributions from Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani in business as well as philanthropic field and conferred him with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has been attributed for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Also, he is the only major businessman from Zambia to be recognised for the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognised for his philanthropic, business and charitable contributions. His top companies contributing to the economy and society are Mahtani Group of Companies and Finsbury Investments. In a similar manner, Dr. Mahtani has worked towards several philanthropic and charitable contributions. Some of his major philanthropic contributions are Prison Fellowship Zambia and Stephen Malama award and scholarship for top law graduates in Zambia.
