Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema recently announced that he plans to abolish the death penalty. This decision was praised and supported by several personalities including Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. Dr. Rajan Mahtani argued in support of the President’s announcement in a political, social as well as religious manner. Dr. Rajan Mahtani stated that the death of Almighty Jesus Christ on the cross paid for all the sins associated with human beings who believed in him. As such, the killing of people, especially those in prisons should only be left to the Son of God.
