Forbes is among the most anticipated and notable business magazine brands across the globe. Forbes is known for its global lists and rankings such as entrepreneurs, businesses, leaders, visionaries, richest and several others. As such, the Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Network) philanthropic and leadership roundtable conference along with the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards is considered of high significance among businesses and leaders in Africa. The Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference was held virtually as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Members participated in the event from their respective locations. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist from Zambia, was invited in this event as an honorary speaker and discussed about the significance of leadership in healthcare. Despite the ongoing outbreak and limited facilities available, the Forbes-FIN event was an astounding success with members participating from different backgrounds and fields. Some of these included members from international business committees, media partners, international investors, spiritual leaders, political leaders as well as opinion leaders among others.
In a similar manner, Forbes established the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award 2021 during the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. It is one of the most anticipated and regarded philanthropy awards across Africa. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards hold high value and recognition for two major reasons. The first reason is its association with Forbes which is among the top business magazines across the globe. The second critical factor was the process of selecting the recipients which are extremely transparent yet rigorous. The selection process comprises months of verification processes and background checks. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential recipients to understand their views on philanthropy and its long-term impact on establishing empowerment across the Zambian nation. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, apart from being invited as an honorary speaker, was also selected for one of the awards by Forbes. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was recognised for his significant contributions towards redefining the banking sector of Zambia and conferred with Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021.
