After several years of dedicated service towards the Zambian nation, Dr. Mahtani’s contributions were finally recognized. Dr. Mahtani is a noted Zambian-based businessman with more than four decades of successful business ventures and entrepreneurial ventures. Dr. Mahtani was recently invited to one of the top business conferences in Africa. It was the Forbes-FIN (Foreign Investment Limited) philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference, dedicated to establishing a platform for recognizing philanthropic achievements, identifying the current gaps as well as developing ideas and innovations for improvement, and achieving long-term empowerment across Africa. The Forbes-FIN was also a crucial platform for collecting funds, financial support, and securing funding for several ongoing as well as future projects across Africa. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was invited to this event as an honorary speaker and spoke about the significance of leadership in healthcare. The 2021 Forbes-FIN leadership conference was held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic and members participated in this event from their respective positions. Just like the philanthropy event, this year’s award ceremony was also held online. However, the ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony by Forbes is one of the most notable and celebrated philanthropy and leadership awards across Africa. The awards are highly regarded due to their global recognition as well as the rigorous selection process. The process of selecting the participants involves months of background checks and verification process by both FIN and Forbes. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential recipients to understand their views on philanthropy to achieve long-term empowerment with the continent. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, for his significant contributions, was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year‘ award. Dr. Mahtani received this award for his business and philanthropic contributions as well as for redefining the banking sector of Zambia, among others.
