Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Successfully Clears All Hurdles Of The Case, Wins After A Decade Of Wait

This happiness was found in the form of transparent case verdict on the long-pending Portland Cement Zambia case. However, this success was not without significant struggle. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman and philanthropist who fought hard for the legal takeover of the Portland Cement Zambia factory. The first court where the case was approached was Lusaka High Court. Numerous court proceedings and a decade of wait later, final judgement from the Lusaka High Court came during the month of May, 2018. However, it was an extremely controversial judgement as justice Nkonde declared that Ventriglias were only shareholders of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.

This misdirected decision was successfully discarded by the higher Court of Appeal judge. Justice Mwinde, on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal, announced on 31st January 2019 that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the actual owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory. He also confirmed that the decision from the Lusaka High Court was never correct and the decision of the Lusaka High Court judge was condemned.
