Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani recently shared an eulogy on the sad demise of a great Zambian leader, Kenneth Kaunda. He was the first President of Zambia and is credited for numerous contributions towards Zambian freedom, independence, development and growth. In this eulogy, Dr. Rajan Mahtani shared his deepest condolences to Dr. Kaunda’s family and friends and also said that it was a great loss for the entire Zambian nation. Kenneth Kaunda was a face to recon with. He will be remembered forever for uniting more than 73 different tribes in Zambia and for ensuring that the Zambian administration follows a one-party rule. Kenneth Kaunda lived a principled yet exemplary life. He was known to be a person with extreme faith in god and his sacrificial engagement which can be seen in his dedication towards the Zambian nation.
Despite many allegations, Dr. Kaunda kept working towards Zambian development with utmost integrity and transparency. He even worked dedicatedly towards the freedom and independence of the entire African continent. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is among those few individuals who is still following his path of dedicated work. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is credited for several developmental aspects such as providing livelihood and employment opportunities for Zambian people. He is also credited for numerous philanthropic and charitable activities including providing the Zambian legal education a boost. This trait of Dr. Rajan Mahtani was seen in his father, late Lekhraj Mahtani who supported and collaborated with Kenneth Kaunda for his quest for independence.
Kenneth Kaunda is no more and he left Zambia and this earth with a significant legacy. This legacy persuades each Zambian to follow a path of honesty, integrity and transparency and to believe in his motto, ‘One Zambia, One Nation’. Businessmen like Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani are following his path with earnest honesty and ethics. It is now time for the rest of the Zambians, especially the youngesters to follow his legacy and bring Zambia to the development and success envisioned by Kenneth Kaunda.
