This post was shared by Miriam Mwanawasa, the daughter of the late ex-President Levy Mwanawasa. Miriam Mwanawasa shared a Facebook post in which she claimed that Dr. Rajan Mahtani wanted to inherit the farmland at Masaiti district. This farmland is currently owned by the Mwanawasa family.
This Facebook post was extremely defamatory in nature and created a negative reputation for Dr. Rajan Mahtani. As a result, Dr. Rajan Mahtani took the right step and released a press statement. In this press statement, Dr. Mahtani clarified the reality of the post. Dr. Rajan Mahtani said that he had maintained an authentic and transparent professional relationship with Levy Mwanawasa for a long time. This relationship stretched even after Levy Mwanawasa become the President of Zambia. Even after the sad demise of the ex-President, Dr. Rajan Mahtani had maintained a good relationship with the Mwanawasa family. As such, this Facebook post from Miriam Mwanawasa was extremely shocking, malicious and ludicrous.
With respect to the Facebook post, the press release also confirmed that the post was shared without any evidence and as a result, its authenticity was questionable from the start. As such, Dr. Rajan Mahtani also said that he will be taking stringent actions against this post as it resulted in negative reputation and defamatory media for the noted businessman.
