Dr. Mahtani’s Philanthropic Contributions Recognized By Forbes

Forbes Business Connect in Africa recently completed the annual Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony. It is one of the most anticipated and regarded philanthropy awards across Africa. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, who is identified as one of the most successful, respected, and down-to-earth businessmen from Zambia, is a recipient of one of the Forbes awards. The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards hold high value and recognition for two major reasons. The first reason is its association with Forbes which is among the top business magazines across the globe. Forbes is famous for generating global lists of top businesses, people, entrepreneurs, companies, and so on. The second critical factor was the process of selecting the recipients which are extremely transparent yet rigorous. The selection process comprises months of verification processes and background checks. This is followed by interviews and discussions with the potential recipients to understand their views on philanthropy and its long-term impact on establishing empowerment across the Zambian nation. Both Forbes and FIN (Foreign Investment Network) are involved in this selection process which not only increases its value but also ensures global recognition to the winners.

The Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ award ceremony was held in conjunction with the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference. This year, the FIN conference was held virtually because of the ongoing pandemic. Yet, members participated from their respective locations enthusiastically and ensured that the virtual event was an astounding success. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was also invited to this event as an honorary speaker. Mark Furlong, the founder, and publisher of Forbes Afrique Media (FAM) and Forbes International anchored this event, along with the Forbes-FIN philanthropy and leadership roundtable conference.

Forbes recognized the contributions made by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. As such, he was conferred with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award in 2021 for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Dr. Mahtani humbly accepted the award and assured me that he will continue to work towards the welfare and development of the Zambian people.
